Colgate-Palmolive and Reading Is Fundamental (RIF), the nation's oldest and largest children's literacy nonprofit organization, first teamed up in 2004 to provide new book collections to children nationwide. Colgate is committed to promoting children's literacy and has contributed more than $800,000 to RIF since 2004 to help share the joy of reading and build healthy reading, brushing, and hand washing habits among children.

Through the Healthy Bedtime Habits program, thousands of books and bilingual resources have been donated to children across the country. This year's campaign — Getting Your Kids to Wash, Brush & Read Just Got a Whole Lot Easier — continues to bring smiles to many more children through additional book donations. In 2007, Colgate and RIF will donate a new book collection to a school nominated by parents and kids who vote online. As an added resource, Colgate and RIF have developed a Healthy Bedtime Habits Hand Washing, Brushing and Reading Log at www.ColgateHealthyHabits.com where children can log their hand washing, brushing and reading activities. The website also has great resources for kids and parents to help them encourage their children to start these habits early.
