Clinical Trials

Help us make a difference shaping the future of oral and skin health care.

  • What is the importance of clinical research?

Clinical research allows for the testing of new products and devices on people, like you. These trials allow scientists to apply the information they gain through laboratory research into treatments and products that help consumers.

    • By joining a Colgate Palmolive study, you will be part of a group of people who are looking to better the future of oral and skin health. Often times, you will be amongst the first to be invited to test out state of the art devices and/or products designed to better your health. These products go through many rounds of pre-clinical testing and approval prior to including them in clinical trials.

  • Will I be compensated for my time?

    • We are very grateful that you are taking the time out to join us in our initiative to change the future. Your compensation will vary depending on the study that you're chosen to participate in.

  • Who will have access to my personal information?

    • Your privacy is very important to us. Colgate will share some personal information with the vendor responsible for making the study payments. There may also be a need to share data with Ethics Committees, Study Auditors, and Regulatory authorities. Subject data will be included in an electronic clinical trials management system hosted by an external vendor who is not permitted to share personal data. Please click on the link below to review Colgate’s data privacy policy.

  • What data will be collected as a part of the screening process?

    • You will be asked to provide self reported data which may include information about your health or lifestyle choices. This information will then be used to contact you regarding future study opportunities and to determine your eligibility for ongoing clinical trials. • Who will be able to view my data?

    • Colgate monitors all data and selectively chooses who to provide information to. Additionally, Colgate complies with all laws which serve to protect your health information's privacy and security. In the unlikely event that your information is compromised, you will be notified immediately.

  • Who can I contact?

    • You can reach us by email at clinicaltrials@colpal.com. For those enrolled in a clinical trial, a specific contact person will be assigned to address questions or concerns.

  • Can I participate in both dermal and oral care studies?

    • Yes! We encourage participation in any study that you find interest in. You can only, however, participate in one study at a time. To sign up for studies, go to the “Get involved” page.

  • What can I expect during the recruitment process?

    • Once identified as a potential subject to participate in one of our clinical studies, we will provide you with an informed consent form which we will review with you and give you an opportunity to ask any questions. After you have signed the informed consent, you will be invited to participate in additional pre-screening evaluations.

  • How long will the studies last?

    • Studies vary in their duration and purpose. Some studies are only 1 day, while others can last for 3 months or longer involving a single or multiple visits to the Colgate Research Facility.  During the pre-screening process, you will be given more information regarding the duration of each study for you to determine your interest and willingness to participate.
