At Colgate-Palmolive, we are committed to reimagining a healthier future for all people. This commitment takes many forms — from advancing product innovation to supporting community health programs in communities across the globe.
Our brands play a key role in driving our purpose, including EltaMD, the #1 dermatologist-recommended, trusted and personally used professional sunscreen brand. EltaMD is committed to raising awareness around skin cancer and educating people about the importance of wearing sunscreen.
Taking a Small Step for a Healthier Future
As the founding sponsor of March 13’s National Dermatologist Day and a long-time supporter of The Skin Cancer Foundation, EltaMD helps ensure that people have access to free skin screenings, sun safety education and sun protection products while supporting ongoing research initiatives and community programs.
The brand has supported the organization’s free mobile skin cancer screening and education program, Destination Healthy Skin, which has provided over 32,000 free skin cancer screenings, identified nearly 13,000 potential skin cancers and precancers, including 615 suspected melanomas, and distributed educational materials and sun protection products to over 109,000 people since it launched. The program has ensured that more people across the United States get screened comfortably and conveniently, supporting EltaMD’s belief in everyone’s right to live freely under the sun.
Free Skin Checks at Colgate-Palmolive Headquarters
Destination Healthy Skin RV visited Colgate-Palmolive’s headquarters in New York City in May in support of Skin Cancer Awareness Month. Through this initiative, Colgate-Palmolive People and the general public were able to receive free skin screenings, as well as complimentary EltaMD products and samples.

Making Life-Changing Moments Possible
In 2022, Peter Graylin, Vice President and General Counsel at Colgate-Palmolive, visited the Destination Healthy Skin RV to get a closer look at a small spot on his calf. It didn’t seem urgent, but he decided he would take a quick detour from his daily routine to take advantage of the free skin checks that were being offered right outside of his office. What happened next may have saved his life.
A dermatologist looked at Peter’s spot and recommended a biopsy. Days later, Peter was diagnosed with Stage 0 melanoma—the earliest form of skin cancer, when it’s still confined to the top layer of skin. Because the melanoma was caught early, Peter was able to have it removed quickly and safely.
“The whole process took less than 15 minutes,” he recalls. “I’m incredibly grateful I didn’t brush it off. You don’t expect something so small to have such a big impact, but it did.”
Now, Peter continues to schedule biannual skin checks and encourages others to make time for theirs. His story is a powerful reminder that early detection matters, and that access to health resources can make all the difference.
