Now, we’re going beyond our planet.
In June 2021, Colgate-Palmolive sent the first-ever private sector oral care experiment to the International Space Station (ISS), under the sponsorship of the ISS U.S. National Laboratory (National Lab).
The on-board experiment was designed to learn more about the growth and metabolism of oral biofilms, which, in our mouths, take the form of dental plaque that can lead to cavities and gum disease.
Then, in February 2022, Colgate broke new ground by conducting the first-ever private-sector skin health experiment in space. That experiment will examine how the skin is affected in a microgravity environment, using engineered human skin samples.
